BUAISOU is a renowned Tokushima-based collective specializing in Japanese natural indigo, celebrated for their farm-to-closet philosophy and wide-ranging collaborations with contemporary designers, artists, and international brands.
I designed the catalog, which thoughtfully presents footage of BUAISOU’s entire production process—narrated by co-founder Kaji Kakuo—alongside an exclusive exhibition documentary. By showcasing the breadth of their work and behind-the-scenes processes, from indigo cultivation to the use of handcrafted tools in their self-renovated studio, the catalog highlights BUAISOU’s innovative spirit and unwavering dedication to the pursuit of the beautiful and singular “absolute blue”.
